This text has been prepared by Target English Academy (“ORGANIZATION”) to provide information on how personal data is collected, processed, stored, protected, and shared with whom as necessary within the scope of the online English training services offered by ORGANIZATION.

The institution processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”) and the related legislation.

The institution may process the following personal data during the provision of services and the use of the website:

• Name, surname and ID number; passport number for foreign nationals

• Date of birth, phone number, email address, and address information

• Educational level and professional knowledge

• Level determination exam, attendance status, and certificate information

• Payment, invoice and bank transfer information

• IP address and connection information during website usage

• Photographs and video recordings that can be taken during the training

The institution shall strive not to request personal data that is not necessary for the execution of the service.

3. Purposes of Processing Personal Data

Personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

• Planning, implementing, and placing the student in the appropriate class

• Establishing contact with the student and providing information regarding the educational process

• Documentation of participation, ongoing status, and certification processes

• Execution of payment, billing and accounting operations

• The fulfillment of KURUM’s legal obligations

• Improving the website's security, functionality, and user experience

• The student must also give explicit consent for the conduct of promotional, marketing and informational activities.

4. Legal Reasons for Processing Personal Data

The institution may process personal data based on legal grounds such as the necessity for the establishment or performance of an education contract, the fulfillment of legal obligations, the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right, the protection of legitimate interests, and, where necessary, the explicit consent of the relevant person.

The use of photographs and video recordings for promotional or marketing purposes, as well as commercial electronic message transmission, is based on the explicit consent of the relevant person, if necessary.

5. Transfer of Personal Data

Personal data may be shared with the following individuals or organizations only to the extent necessary and for the purposes of the relevant processing:

• Accounting firms hired to perform billing, accounting, and financial obligations

• Legally competent public institutions and organizations as well as judicial authorities

• In the case of the relevant person’s written explicit consent, social media and digital broadcasting platforms where visual content is shared for promotional purposes

The institution does not share personal data illegally with third parties.

6. Storage Period and Disposal

Personal data is stored for the duration necessary to carry out the educational service and fulfill legal obligations. The retention period under the registration contract of the institution is 5 years.

Personal data is deleted, destroyed or made anonymous in accordance with the relevant legislation when the retention period expires or the processing purpose ceases to exist.

7. Data Security

The institution takes reasonable technical and administrative measures to prevent the unlawful processing and access of personal data; to ensure the safe storage of data. Within this scope, access rights are limited, system and database security, secure data transfer, physical access controls, and employee privacy practices are implemented.

8. Use of Photography and Video

Photo or video recording may be taken during the educational process. The use of photos or videos that identify the student on social media accounts, websites, printed or digital promotional materials is only possible with the written explicit consent of the student.

Images of individuals who do not provide explicit consent will not be used for promotional or marketing purposes. The given explicit consent remains in effect, subject to the right of the relevant individual to withdraw in accordance with the legislation.

9. Rights of the Person Concerned and Application

Individuals whose personal data is processed have the rights to request information from the COMPANY within the scope of the KVKK regarding whether their personal data is processed, to request information regarding this processing, to learn whether the processing is carried out in accordance with the purpose and purpose, to know the third parties to whom the data is transferred, to request rectification of incomplete or incorrect data, to request deletion or destruction of the data if the conditions are met, to object to the processing activity, and to claim compensation in the event of damage.

10. Policy Changes
